Storing Mealworms

If you have Leopard Geckos you probably feed them mealworms as a staple diet, and if not as an occasional substitute. One trick that a lot of people do not know about, which I use all the time, is that you can put them in the fridge to last longer until you are ready to feed them. No more worrying about feeding, cleaning, and sifting your mealworms. Just place them in the fridge with a few air holes, and a paper towel in the middle of the container and or on top of the mealworms. This absorbs any extra humidity and prevents your worms from getting wet and dying. When stored this way they can last for a month or so. This is great because it allows you to buy mealworms in bulk, which is a lot less expensive then buying them a dozen at a time. Also it makes feeding really easy! Just remove them from the fridge and let them warm up to room temperature before feeding them to your animals. If you need mealworms and would like to buy in bulk I have them for sale here.
